I would like to start by thanking the committee of The West of England Bull Terrier Club for the invitation and appointment. A club I have always had fond memories of, during my show days, a show well run with a family feel to it.
Also, thank you to all exhibitors, for a bumper entry and great sportsmanship in, and around the ring.
My observations on the day, regarding the breed in general and only my opinion, was the bitches again are still strong in depth and teeming with quality. In many bitch classes first to fourth could easily challenge for the top spot. Saying that, 95% were of terrier types, need to get that variation of bull and terrier, never the less, top quality.
As breeders we also need to be aware of mouth faults creeping back. Also something I see becoming a problem and becoming the ‘norm’, is the severe overoaching over the croupe.
The males, although not as strong in depth as the bitches, did vary more in types from terrier to bull.

16 month old brindle and white dog, strong head with good mouth, small dark eye, neat ear’s, good fill and depth with a big finish, straight in front with a well-balanced body, moved well both ways.
2nd LOUKA STARMAN (MISS K MALDEN)
A 5 year old compact white dog, a strong head but a touch more fill would finish the picture, strong round bone well sprung ribs, good top line, lovely quarters, well-muscled which showed as he covered the ground

9 month old terrier type tri-colour dog, good head with correct mouth, keen expression, good bone for type, in super condition. His movement was hard to assess.

2nd KARMARA’S LITTLE BIG MAN (MRS & MR R & T KARTA-WILLIAMS & WILLIAMS)
16 month old upstanding red and white dog, heavy set, loved his type and size which is seldom seen nowadays, strong head with good fill, gentle sweeping profile, mouth just off, muscular neck, good eye and ear set, deep in brisket, well sprung ribs, correct topline, moved and handled well, covered the ground with ease.
