It was a great pleasure for me to judge the North East Bull Terrier Club Championship Show, as those who know me know, I’m a North East Bull Terrier Club man through and through. Today, I was glad to see that on the whole mouths are improving, especially the canine situation, but sadly there were some very professional breeders and handlers made to look like novices through the antics of their dogs in the showring, temperament needs to be looked at. I could foresee some of these specimen’s creating problems in a novice home, but having said that, there were none of these specimens aggressive toward myself. I must sincerely thank all exhibitors who made the effort to show under me in these troubled times.

1st CLANSMANN REAL ROCKAFELLA (MR & MISS P & K NEIL & ROBERTS)
Head not too bad in profile, nice finish just a tad weak under the eyes, mouth perfect. Gun Barrell front, short back, sound adequately turned hindquarters, tail carried just a little gayly. Moved well in front, a little close behind. Could have been a few pounds heavier.
2nd EVANNASTAR'S ROCCO (MISS J MURRAY)
Typey black brindle dog, head a little more powerful than one, not so much better in profile but his mouth was wrong. His front was good however feet were a little untidy. He has a good depth of brisket and spring of rib, backline firm, sound hindquarters with an adequate turn of stifle, moved freely and with drive.

1st ARCHETYPE WILD CARD (MS A GATES)
Very good typey dog with a strong powerful masculine head, good in profile, ears right on top, and eyes correctly placed giving him a pleasing expression. Mouth correct. Good shoulders, firm backline and good turn of stifle. Tail set a tad high but not carried gayly. His cross is his front as while his elbows are under him, he tends to turn out a little in the pastern which showed in his movement when viewed from the front, his rear movement is good.
2nd ABGAR THE ALMIGHTY (MISS & MR A & J HENDERSON & SMITH)
Rich mahogany brindle and white. Head is very good in profile but for me did not have the strength and depth of one. Mouth correct. He has reach, a beautiful front, a firm backline and correct tail set. To me though his hindquarters lacked angulation and muscle definition which was evident on the move- fine in front, lacked drive in rear.
3rd BIG ALAN (MR & MISS J J & C E VEITCH & HILL)

1st TILLEAH ICEMAN (MRS T MOORE)
White heavyweight with a good head, would have liked his ears a little more on top as this would have improved the overall picture. Mouth Fault, a few incisor’s out. Front – elbows are under him but tends to turn his pasterns out a little which is more obvious on the move. Good depth of brisket and spring of rib, sound hindquarters with an adequate turn of stifle, moved better going than coming, great showman and handled well.
2nd BIG ALAN (MR & MISS J J & C E VEITCH & HILL)
A dog of good type, he is well constructed with a pleasing head although a little weak in front of the eye. Mouth correct. Moved well enough in both directions but today he was a little out of coat.

1st CLANSMANN SUPER FLYE GUY (MR & MISS K & A JOWERS)
Quality dog in a quality class. Did not co-operate at all with his handler today, however his head is good if not excellent in some respects i.e. width, depth and length. Mouth perfect. Did not use his ears to his advantage but in the brief glimpses I got his expression was good. Straight front, tidy feet, deep brisket and well sprung ribs, firm backline and tail set correct. Adequate angulation in hindquarters showing well defined muscle tone. Moved with drive but a little close behind, front movement fine when he co-operated with his handler. Overall, a very good male specimen.
2nd RABRAM RUSTIC SUNRISE (MR R LEGGATT)
Very good brindle and white, nicely balanced throughout. He has a very good head with no exaggeration and enough strength and depth right through to balance. Mouth Correct. Good front and tidy feet. Firm backline, deep brisket and well sprung ribs. Powerful hindquarters which he used on the move, travelling with plenty of drive and going just wide enough. A close call today. A word of caution, if he carried any more weight it would distract from his otherwise good head.

1st HOLLBONNIE WHITE KNIGHT AT INVERSU (MR & MRS M & S CHAPMAN)
Quality dog. Head is very good, turned and filled to balance. Mouth is perfect. He has a good eye and ear placement giving him an excellent expression. He has reach and probably some of the best shoulders in the ring today, plus a gun barrel front, however to be a tad critical his feet could have been tighter. Good topline and flowing bodylines into beautifully angulated hindquarters. Moved very well both ways with drive and width behind and reaching out in front. Handled very well. DCC

What can I say about this dog that hasn’t already been said, he’s a very good coloured dog indeed. His head, whilst good didn’t quite have the profile or strength of the CC winner, however his mouth is perfect. His front is excellent with beautiful feet. He has reach, a very good shoulder, good depth of brisket and spring of rib and an ultra short back. He had sound correctly angulated hindquarters so he moved well. Presented to perfection, a credit to his owner/handler. I hope breeders take advantage of a coloured dog of this quality. Best Coloured RDCC
2nd WHITE WIZARD OF STEEL AT BLAZINBULLYS (MR & MRS S & R MATHISON)
Typey white with a pleasing head and expression, mouth correct. Front -tends to turn his pasterns out a little although his elbows are underneath him. Firm backline, sound rear quarters with adequate turn of stifle, tail set a tad high. Moved today better behind than in front. I can imagine he was rather a nightmare for his handler who constantly struggled to get the best out of him.

1st TILLEAH MY BOOK OF DREAMS (MRS T MOORE)
Red and white bitch enjoying her day out and co-operating with her handler very well. Just enough head with width and fill to balance her tall elegant frame. Gun barrel front, sound hindquarters, moved freely with drive in rear and reaching out in front in a smooth positive action. Mouth- a few misplaced teeth, nothing serious. Very well presented and handled, appreciated.

Promising puppy. Powerful head with a good turn, strong and deep with a good width of muzzle. Mouth Correct. Ears are a little large but right on top and firm. Still needs to tighten up in front but very mature behind the collar for a puppy of this age. Forequarter angulation could have been a tad better however she has powerful hindquarters and moved with drive. BP

1st OLLIEBRAD SONG BIRD (MR & MRS M & K BRADLEY)
Gently turned head with a good width of muzzle. Mouth tight but correct. Straight front, tidy feet, shoulders are a little latched on but she held her backline firm. Tail set a tad high but she has an adequate turn of stifle and her front movement was fine, as was her rear movement at the right pace. Presented in beautiful condition and handled well.
2nd BEEBEEMI IRONLADY (MISS DONNA MITCHELL)
Typey white, head a little plain in profile but enough width, fill and depth, mouth just a little off. She has a good shoulder front and feet, short back but topline is spoilt by a rather high set tail. Sound rear end with an adequate turn of stifle, moved better in front than behind. Presented well.

1st CLANSMANN LADY BARBS (MR & MISS K & A JOWERS)
Top drawer bitch. She has an excellent head, long and turned with width, depth and fill to balance. Eyes well placed, ears on top giving her the correct expression. Mouth perfect. Very good shoulders, gun barrel front and tidy feet. Good spring of rib and firm backline, underline a little untidy- overweight. Correct tail set, sound hindquarters with a good turn of stifle. Moved as you would expect- good in both directions. What a surprise, when checking the catalogue that she is the sister of my eventual bitch CC winner, this was her first time out so I wish her well. RBCC
2nd SELBULLIE SECRET (MR & MISS M & T THOMPSON & WOOD)
Another good quality bitch, head is quite good with a perfect bite. Good front, shoulders and topline and sound hindquarters. When settled she could move well in both directions. But, what a tough job she gave her handler today, this needs working on and more prizes are sure to come.

Head turned and broad across the skull, would have liked to see more width of muzzle to balance. Correct bite. Good front although tends to lie back on her pasterns at times, deep brisket, well sprung ribs, sound hindquarters with just enough turn of stifle. On the move, fine in front but at the faster pace she was a little erratic behind, although movement was difficult to assess as she wasn’t co-operating with her handler.
2nd DEVIL DIVA CELEBRITIES BASE AT BEEBEEMI (IMP POL) (MISS DONNA MITCHELL)
Typey brindle and white with a good head. Front straight although lay of shoulder could have been better. Firm backline and good turn of stifle, tail set a little high which spoilt her topline slightly. Moved better behind than in front, handled well.

Beautiful white bitch I have admired for some time but seldom have I seen her show so well, she stood there for her handler like a statue, ears erect not once laying them back, theyre well placed as is her eyes and she has a very good head. To top it all off she also has a perfect mouth. Excellent shoulders and front, tidy feet, flowing bodylines, beautiful topline and sound hindquarters with a good turn of stifle. On the move, she held her backline firm, she had drive although to be critical she moved a tad close at the faster paces, front movement was excellent reaching out and covering the ground. An easy choice for me to make. BCC BIS

A bitch I’ve always admired and now she has matured into a fine specimen. She has a good head without it being exaggerated and the desired expression. Mouth correct, although she has cracked a tooth. A good front, shapely bodylines and just enough turn of stifle, can carry her tail a little gayly at times. Moved well in front, just a tad close at the faster paces behind. Her overall type won her the class today, handled and presented beautifully.
2nd LARONBELLE'S CRIMSON TIDE (MR & MRS & MISS A & A & E J TWYMAN)
A larger specimen than one, she has a very good head and expression, a gun barrel front and tidy feet for a bitch this size. Topline was let down a little by her shoulder angulation. On the move she was a tad close behind but moved with drive, reaching out and covering the ground in front. There’s a lot to like about this bitch, she was handled and presented very well, close decision.
