A huge Thank You to the committee for inviting me to judge this Open Show in their 75th anniversary year and for the lovely hospitality. And most importantly, a massive Thank You to the exhibitors for entering and allowing me to judge your Bull Terriers. I know full-well how expensive and time-consuming this hobby is, so the effort and support is very much appreciated. Also, thanks for taking my decisions and placings with such good grace and sportsmanship. I had a really enjoyable day.

1st DEVARCA ANYTHING GOES (MRS & MR R & J SULLIVAN)
11 month old, brindle and white male. Masculine for his age. Very good head, which is long with good profile and well finished. Muzzle is wide, full and has good depth. Strong neck into well laid shoulder. Moderate length of back. Well angled rear-end with well-set tail. Took the class and BP without much trouble. BP
2nd JAVARKE ALBATROSS (MRS & MR USAI & BROWN)
10 month old, white boy with brindle ear. Head ok, could do with more width and fill. Profile ok, but is well finished and he has good underjaw. A good eye and when used, his ears were bang on top to give a keen expression. Decent bone, straight front. Movement was erratic, so hard to assess. Both dog and handler would benefit from ringcraft – stick at it, good luck!

13 month old tricolour. Masculine, powerhouse of a dog. Maturity way beyond his 13 months. Strong head, turned right over, would prefer a bit more length. Strong underjaw, good mouth. Excellent small ears, wicked expression. Thick muscular neck into decent shoulder and short strong back. Strong round bone with tight pasterns and good feet. Holds tail a bit high. Rear angulation and short strong hocks gave for good thrust moving up the mat. Good dog. RBD
2nd ELLAKRU MAVERICK AT EXQUIZABULL (MRS M QUINN)
All white dog with good breed type. Same age as 1, but not quite the masculinity or power. Good egg-shaped head with width and filled right up. Lovely profile, excellent depth and marked finish. Ears, eyes and expression are bang-on. Well made, with good conformation and angulation all through. Would like to see a bit more drive on the move.

1st JASNA DIRTY DEALER (MR & MRS R & D SCOTT)
Big, masculine red and white dog. Really good head, with excellent length, unbroken profile and finish. Muzzle is wide and strong, underjaw is good. Decent shoulder, deep brisket. Good round bone. A little bit long in the body. Well-angled and strong rear-end gave him good drive and thrust. Moved parallel. He’s in fantastic condition and was handled very well for the first time by his owner.
2nd MIINROC GALAXY (MISS F MILLS)
Brindle and white boy. Strong head, with totally unbroken profile and depth. Good width and strength of muzzle. Small eye and well-placed ears give a keen expression. Ok for bone. Would prefer tighter pasterns. Moderate length of back. Good rear angulation made for good movement up the mat.

2 year old white with brindle eyepatches. Very good breed type with excellent balance and conformation. Strong head with fantastic length. Full up muzzle with good underjaw. Would like a touch more profile, but good Roman finish. Eye is very well placed and when he used his ears his expression was wicked. Excellent shoulder, upper arm and forechest. Good strong bone for his type. Solid straight front with tight pasterns and feet. Short and strong back with level topline. Good square dog. Well-angled rear-end gives him good drive on the move. I loved his attitude. Full of spirit and activity, but always under control. Type and conformation won him BD BIS
2nd BULLYHINKS FURY (MR S PAGE)
Typey all white male, 18 months old. Another one full of spirit, just a bit more focus needed, which should come with age. Head is good, with decent width, excellent fill, length and good deep muzzle. Standout expression, with perfectly placed, tiny jet-black eyes. Ok for bone. Shoulder is well laid back. Moderate length back with good roach over loin. Good tailset and great bend of stifle. Took a lot to get him to settle on the move, but I could see good thrusting hind action. There’s more to come from this boy with maturity.

Well-marked red and white, 7 year old bitch. Lovely condition for her age and a couple of litters. Head is strong but feminine. Long unbroken profile and good depth of muzzle. Long neck into good shoulder and topline that she kept on the move. She obviously still enjoys the showring. BV

Brindle and white. Strong head, which is well turned, deep, with good width and fill. Strong underjaw. I’d like to see her with a bright white flash to show off her head. Nicely made bitch with long muscular neck, good shoulder and deep brisket. Lots of forechest. Perfect rear angulation. Good substance. She looked great in profile. Nice bitch.

All white 10 month old baby. Ultra-feminine, very pretty girl. Once she settled she showed off her virtues. Very feminine head with maximum profile, completely unbroken turn. Good fill. Would like a bit more width. Her perfectly shaped and placed eye give a wicked expression. Tall and upstanding. Ok for bone. Would prefer tidier feet. Moderate length of back. Good tail set and bend of stifle.

White with brindle ear mark. High quality terrier type. Beautiful, classy showgirl at only 13 months of age. Didn’t take her eyes off her handler. Beautiful, strong, feminine head has good turn, length and fill. Keen expression. Long, strong neck glides into a perfect topline. Good upper arm and forechest, straight front, nice feet. It was a straight shootout in the bitch challenge for Best Bitch, where she took Reserve – a really close decision. I’m sure she’s got a great show career ahead of her. RBB

15 month old, dark brindle and white. Beautiful, flashy feminine girl. Lovely head has length, turn and fill. Small eyes and perfect ears give a really wicked expression, helped by perfect bright white head markings. Fantastic type front on. Straight front into tight feet. Would prefer a bit more forechest. Good topline. Would like a lower set tail. Moved well. Very nice bitch.

White with red head markings. Smaller, feminine, pretty, terrier type bitch. Feminine head with good length and finish. Would like a bit more fill and power. Very good eye and ears giving a keen expression. Sweet and happy temperament, a little bit shy. Very nicely made with good conformation. Good length of neck, shoulder and upper arm. Excellent straight front with enough bone for size and type. Lovely tight feet. Short back and correct roach over loin.

Red and white, flashy terrier type. Showed very well, always on her toes. Feminine head has good length, but would like more profile, fill and strength. Perfect mouth. Behind the collar she is very well made with excellent balance all through. Lovely neck into good shoulder and short back. Lovely topline. Straight front into tight feet. Would prefer a bit more bone. Won the class on make and shape.

Dark brindle and white. Strong girl with good substance. Good head, long and strong. Has profile, depth, finish and strength of muzzle. Good bone, straight front, tight feet. Would like a little more layback of shoulder and shorter back. Strong back end with good angulation made for good movement.

All white girl with exceptional power all through. Middle-of-the-road to Bull type. Not often you see a bitch with the virtues she has. Powerful head, completely egg-shaped and filled right up. Good profile, well finished and great depth. Very well balanced with good conformation. Strong neck into good shoulder and short, muscular back. Deep brisket, broad chest and excellent spring of rib. Totally straight front with excellent bone. Absolute maximum substance for a bitch, wouldn’t want any more. Her virtues outweigh her mouth fault, but this was a factor in the final challenge against her litter brother. BB, BOS, RBIS

White with black brindle head marks. Strong head that has depth and width. Powerful and wide muzzle. Ears a bit wide-set, which gives a soft expression. Good round bone and good substance. Good forechest and depth of brisket. Good topline, correct roach over loin and well-muscled rear.
