I love Blackpool, it’s a great show and the committee really go that extra mile to make it a bit special. They were rewarded with better weather this year which made it a truly enjoyable day.
Anyone who thinks that the reduced entries will make for easier champions is going to be disappointed, as the quality, particularly in bitches, continues to hold up well and there were several bitches present worthy of the title of champion. Whilst there was a lot of quality on display I do feel that we are lacking depth in the really typy animals and some animals presently are rather one dimensional; great in profile, but rather narrow when viewed from the front.

1st POLANCA POWERSLAVE (MISS L J & MR T SHEPPARD & HOWES)
Impressive big brindle dog with lots of quality. Very good profile but a little narrow in foreface. Correct bite. Excellent in silhouette, well made with good bodylines. Excellent heavy, round bone. Rather long cast and needs to tighten in front. A tricky dog to show as he is typically rambunctious, but his handler got the best out of him. Moved freely.
2nd RABRAM ROYAL STAR (MR & MRS R LEGGATT)
Powerful heavyweight black brindle dog. Excellent well filled head, with good strength of muzzle. One misplaced canine. Short cobby body with excellent spring of rib. Correct topline. Would like a little more bone for his size. Moved with drive but a little close behind.

Compact white dog, oozing breed type. Well placed tiny eye, and well positioned ears giving him a first class expression. Good front with plenty of bone for his size. Good neck with excellent well laid shoulder. Short cobby body with a barrel ribcage. Firm topline and short back. Would like a little more fill to his head and a bit more strength to his muzzle but one of the few dogs that was truly square. Slight mouth fault. Moved well, drove and was parallel both ways. RDCC

Very smart shapely dog with excellent bodylines, Beautiful straight front with nice tight feet. Well-shaped head of good length. Both canines tight. Very good expression. Moved freely but a little wide in front.

Powerful white dog, Beautiful head, amongst the best here, completely packed up with a wide muzzle and with teeth locked over and correct canines. Excellent bone, but rather poor in front. Well laid shoulder. Very masculine, but a touch short on leg making him rather unbalanced. Very good powerful hindquarters. Showed like a bomb.

Very showy and statuesque smart black brindle. Tall and shapely with an excellent profile. Head is long and well-shaped but lacks strength to muzzle. Beautiful long neck. Very well made throughout with good firm topline. Moved a little close behind.
2nd CHARDAICE DILLINGER (MISS A & MR PARKES & BURRIDGE)
Quality red dog with a calm temperament. Well made with a strong, well filled head. Very good straight front. Touch long in back. Very good quarters which he used well on the move. Would like a little more power and substance throughout.

Quality white dog of medium size. Well-shaped head with decent profile, lacking a little under the eye. Excellent expression. Nice tight front with elbows tucked in and nice round bone. Beautiful long neck and excellent well laid shoulder. Well sprung ribs, firm topline which he held on the move. An extremely well balanced high quality dog, just approaching maturity Steady showman won the CC and Best of Breed on his make and shape and overall quality. DCC & BOB

Tall eye-catching black brindle dog. Sweeping profile. Outstanding, gun barrel front, with nice tight feet. Very good shapely bodylines. An eye-catching dog with lots of quality, but is a little narrow throughout, and needs more spring of rib. Showed very well.

A stunning youngster of outstanding quality, just needs to widen in chest and tighten throughout. A stunning youngster who looks set to go places. Showed really well and moved freely and with drive. A beautiful pretty and feminine white bitch of excellent quality. Classic well filled head, with a perfect mouth and a very good front. Extremely well made throughout. At barely 7 months old she is understandably immature and somewhat loose, but she is a bitch of the highest quality and with maturity I suspect she will trouble the very best. I hope we see more of her in the show ring.

Elegant tall white bitch with plenty of substance. Extremely well made with excellent bodylines. Lovely well filled head with a sweeping profile. Beautiful swan like neck. Well laid shoulder and strong well angulated hindquarters. A little more bone and neater ears would complete the picture. Drove well and moved in one piece but was a little close behind.

Beautifully made black brindle bitch. Lovely in profile with sweeping bodylines, lovely neck and shoulder and good topline with very well angulated quarters. Her head whilst lovely in profile is a little narrow for me and I would like to see more bone, but a quality bitch nevertheless.
2nd ARICON EYE SOCIETY INTO MEGAVILLE (MR & MRS P BLAIR)
Another high quality and well-made bitch. Attractive head. Very pretty and compact with a lovely short back and cobby body and very strong and well angulated quarters. Carrying just a little too much weight which spoiled her underline, but a quality bitch nonetheless who has excellent type.

Tremendous heavyweight powerful white bitch. Very strong well filled head with a good deep muzzle. Correct bite. Lovely straight front with nice round bone and good tight feet. Super length of neck and a well-placed shoulder and firm topline. She moved completely in one piece with great drive and was completely parallel when going away. Not the most feminine of bitches she will be too much for some, but for me she is a stunning bitch with the substance and power one looks for and just the type that produces champions. BCC
2nd FORTIFER’S FLAMETTA (MR A LEY & MS M BLOOMFIELD)
I loved her as a puppy when I gave her a reserve ticket and have certainly not changed my mind. Compact, with an excellent head. Enough bone for her size, good front and short back with strong well angulated quarters. She has matured into a steady showgirl. Her mouth, which not quite correct has, if anything, improved with age. A bitch which deserves her title and I hope it comes soon.
