It was a pleasure to judge at this show, but I am just sorry that it was under such unfortunate circumstances having been asked at short notice to step in for Australian Stephen Craven, who was taken ill at the last moment. We all wish him a swift recovery. It’s such a shame that this show clashes with the International show in Holland; the depleted numbers reflected this all too sadly & along with the general decline in entries made for a very small entry. It was however, as always, a friendly show with some lovely prizes on offer & super hampers in the raffle to be won. I would like to thank the Committee for their very warm welcome & the most delicious lunch. Thankfully the quality of the winners was such that withholding awards was not even a consideration, even though the entry was so small.

1st BAVAZUELA INGEMAR JOH (MR A HAASE)
9 years substantial white. Strong, short and filled head lacking a little in finish. Good ears, placed correctly and used. Bite was reverse scissors. Good front, plenty of bone with well angulated quarters. His movement was close behind but with drive. Very typy and in good condition for his age

1st COXENBULLY ALFRED THE GREAT (MR & MRS G D & J COX)
11 months white with black ears. Head has length & strength but needs a bit more profile. Perfect mouth. Ears were erect & set right but a little big. Very heavy bone & tall on the leg, he has a good body shape which should get better with maturity. Quarters could use a little more angulation, but his movement was fair, covering the ground easily, just a touch close behind. Well made puppy with plenty of quality & a very nice temperament

Cobby type red and white dog with a very nice head, lots of width with a lovely profile and plenty of fill. Ears were neat and erect and set correctly. Good expression. Perfect mouth. Lovely straight front with neat tight feet. Adequate bone for his size. Short backed with well angulated quarters. Moved well both ways. He presents a very pleasing picture and there is much to like about him. DCC & RBIS;
2nd ABBIES LUCKY LAD (MR & MR F & J KENNEDY)
Big substantial white dog with black eye patch. Long and strong head lacking profile. Perfect mouth. Ears a little on the large side and could be better placed. Good front with plenty of bone but his feet are a little untidy. Would like to see a shorter back but his hindquarters are a good length and well-shaped. Movement was good going away. Shown and handled well

Compact tricolour. Very pleasing body shape, short backed, carrying just the right amount of weight for his size. Very good, nicely shaped head, short, filled with a gentle curve to the profile. Perfect mouth. Good bone and straight front and super well angulated hindquarters. Movement was parallel moving away, but a little close coming. Would like a better tail carriage. Showed and handled very well. RDCC
2nd VETSBULLIES HOT PATOOTIE (MR P TRAVIS)
Big substantial white dog with lots of type. Strong and well filled head but not the finish of the winner. Ears a little large but set correctly. Correct bite with one canine in. Straight front, good bone, shade long cast. Strong, well angulated quarters. Moved well. Carrying a bit too much weight today but overall a very decent dog.

1st HENTARW WELSH WARRIOR FROM PENPYCH (MR & MRS M & J GRIFFITHS)
Black brindle and white, compact and very smart looking dog. Beautiful profile to a strong and well filled head. Neat, erect ears carried correctly. Level bite. Front feet turned out a little. Mature, well bodied albeit a touch long. Good, well-shaped hindquarters. Movement a bit close behind. Overall a very good sound dog
2nd HENTARW EXECUTIVE DECISION (MR & MRS L & K ATKINS)
Rather elegant tricolour with a short head with a good profile. Perfect mouth. Touch long in body and would prefer a bit more weight. Beautifully shaped hindquarters and neat feet. Moved well. Appears a bit immature but is nevertheless a rather smart fellow.

1st BENJIP BLACK MAGIC AT KEARBY (MS E BRAILSFORD)
Pretty 8½ years black brindle with a pleasing head, plenty of fill and a good profile. Bite just off with some teeth missing. Her front is not her fortune but these faults are more forgivable in a veteran. Short backed, deep brisket giving a lovely underline and a good reach of neck. Movement was pretty good. Shown in beautiful condition.
2nd NIGHT AT THE OPERA WITH MARSHELSEA (MR & MRS B & C CHILMAID)
Very substantial 7½ years white bitch with black ears. Very different type from 1. Strong, well-shaped head, one ear showing signs of a haematoma. Good mouth. Lovely straight front with heavy bone and neat feet. Good quarters. Movement was close behind. Carrying a little too much weight and has lost her underline but a nice, typy bitch nevertheless

White 11 months puppy bitch. Tall on the leg, with immature body lines. Long head, elegant but lacking some fill. Good ears and nice expression. Perfect mouth. Good straight front with tidy feet. Movement was OK going away but a bit close coming forwards. A little more show training would help as she has more to offer. BPIS

Short body, deep brisket and well angulated quarters. Carrying a touch too much weight. Moved out with drive but a bit close behind. Very well made, typy bitch who pushed hard for the RCC
2nd UNIONBUL'S FALLEN ANGEL (MISS I N STRATTON)
13 months white bitch with a damaged tail. Short head needing a bit more fill under the eyes. Perfect mouth. Front good with nice feet. Short, mature bodylines, could do with carrying less weight as she has lost her "tuck-up”. Very good, well angulated quarters. Moved well enough when she finally settled to the task

Beautiful, long and well angulated hindquarters. Shown in immaculate condition

Body shape was pleasing, short back, deep brisket and good "tuck-up”. Excellent hindquarters with very shapely feet. She moved well. A most honest, well made and pleasant bitch to go over

Straight front but feet a bit untidy. Well shaped body, carrying the right amount of weight. Lovely shaped hindquarters. Moved well both ways

She is not a natural showgirl and fails to make the most of herself, making life difficult for her handler
