My sincere thanks to the East Anglian Bull Terrier Club for giving me the opportunity to judge today's Open Show and special thanks to the entry, for venturing out on a cold February morning.
The entry was relatively good considering its proximity to the Bull Terrier Clubs Annual Trophy Show. Among the entries mouths were very good with only two instances of instanding canines noted. On the whole movement was hard to assess, with many young dogs making their show debut and not totally comfortable with the show environment, which proved to be a challenge.

1st RAGNAROK BALDER AT POLANCA (MISS & MR L & T SHEPPARD & HOWES)
7½ years Red and White dog. Strong well filled head with deep muzzle into good bodylines, deep brisket, good bone, straight front and good bend of stifle. The overall picture was of a well conditioned individual, oozing type and substance, maximising his time on the mat like an old master. A stand out showman who moved with drive – the only clue to his age was a dusting of white hair on his muzzle. Unfortunately his mouth is incorrect RBD
2nd ROMAGNA PARISIENNE WALKWAY (MR & MRS M & Y MORGANS)
9 years dark brindle and white bitch. Another well seasoned individual in excellent condition and making the most of herself. Long gentle profile, well placed ears into elegant neck. Good round bone, straight front and good lay of shoulder, top-line dips slightly behind her withers. Moved well both ways, shown and handled well.

1st OLIVER TWIST'S PRINCE (KRZYSZTOF RYDZYNSKI)
9 months brindle and white dog. Head long and strong, adequate profile, with good finish, well placed ears. Mouth correct. Well balanced, dog with good bone, good reach of neck, good length of leg, well laid shoulders and nice level top-line. Nice tight feet and in good condition. Moved well when settled. A promising young dog, lacking maturity.

1st TULSADOOM KABUKIMONO (MR & MRS D & T WESTWOOD)
13 month dark brindle and white dog. Power packed head, sweeping profile with lots of width, filled right up. Mouth correct. Ears well placed, powerful body, good spring of rib, deep well rounded brisket, showing lots of bone. Overall picture is of a very powerful, typy dog, I would have liked a little more length of fore-arm, but his virtues of substance and power far out-weigh any fault. Moved well. Shown and handled well. RBIS BOS BD.
2nd UKUSA MACHIAVELLIAN (MRS L CURTIS)
18 months, compact white dog with red eye patch. Well filled head with a gentle profile, small eye with good ear placement. Mouth correct. Well constructed body with good bone, well sprung ribs and strong quarters. Level top-line into well placed tail. Not totally comfortable in the show ring, but moved well when he settled.

1st BULLYON DEVILS MEASURE (MR & MRS M B PHILLIPS)
16 months, very refined red and white dog. Well filled head with gentle profile, good finish. Mouth correct. A well balanced dog with adequate bone. Nice short back, good reach of neck and well angulated hinds. Coat rich in colour and harsh to the touch. Feet flat and a little untidy. A very flashy dog, yet to mature and not yet at ease in the show ring. Moved well when he wasn’t distracted.
2nd CHARMING KING (MISS J D MOORE)
5 year old solid brindle dog. Gentle profile, adequate fill with good ear placement. Mouth correct. Well made dog with well placed shoulders, straight front, with enough bone, level top-line and well angulated rear. Moved well both ways. A little lack lustre in the ring today.

5½ years, powerful brindle and white bitch. Strong head with sweeping profile, long, strong muzzle, well filled. Mouth correct. Nice reach of neck into well made body, a little long cast. Strong round bone, very neat cat-like feet. Straight front, deep fore chest and well set tail. Moved well both ways.
2nd UKUSA DARKQUEEN AT URBANBULLY (MR J HARPER)
4½ years, tri-colour bitch. Strong head with enough profile with good roman finish. Mouth level. Strong bitch whilst retaining her femininity. Deep forechest, short back with enough bone. Good top-line, finished off with very powerful hind quarters. A little erratic in the ring, movement hard to assess.

9 months, white bitch with red ear, long, gentle, feminine head. Slightly kind eye and with slightly large ears. Mouth correct. Well constructed substantial body, nice level top-line, good tail set with well let down hocks. Straight front showing good bone, finished off with lovely tight feet. Moved with drive and really used those powerful hinds. Shown and handled well. RBB BP
2nd ABENAKI SNOW DANCER INTO LARONBELLE (MISS & MR A & A GARDNER & TWYMAN)
10 months, white bitch with small eye mark. More terrier type than 1st placed. Sweeping profile and well filled head although lacks a little width. Mouth correct. Well made with long elegant neck into well placed shoulders, well balanced feminine bitch, a little lacking in bone and quite immature. Moved parallel both ways. Shown and handled well.

13 months, powerful yet feminine white bitch. Strong head with arching profile and wicked expression with well placed, neat ears. Arching neck into level top-line, stood four square with strong front. Well sprung ribs, good bone and very neat feet. Lost her top-line a little on the move, which spoilt the overall picture.
2nd TULSADOOM FORTY ELEPHANTS (MR & MRS D & T WESTWOOD)
13 months, heavyweight, feminine white bitch. Strong head with straight profile and a keen expression with slightly large ears. Mouth correct. Good reach of neck into level top-line, straight front, well sprung ribs with well angulated quarters and strong bone. Tail a little high set. Moved well although a little close behind.

13 months, dark brindle and white bitch. Compact, feminine bitch. Gentle profile with lots of finish, with good fill beneath her eyes. Mouth correct. Good ear placement into good reach of neck, level top-line, a short back over a well sprung rib. Feet flat and a little untidy. Took a while to settle, which made her movement hard to assess.
2nd UKUSA AUSPICIOUS (MR & MRS R RACKSTRAW)
11½ month, red and white bitch. Gentle profile, good finish with strong muzzle, keen expression with good ear placement. Mouth correct. Level top-line, good length of leg, well set tail, slightly weak in the hind quarters, still needs to mature. Moved well when she settled.

16 month old, black brindle and white compact bitch. Feminine, strong head, long profile with good depth of muzzle, mouth correct. Well placed ears, good reach of neck, level top-line, nice short back, good bend of stifle. Good bone, down to nice tight feet. Moved well when eventually settled.
2nd BULLYSOUL LITTLE DARLING (MR & MRS S & K KETTLEBOROUGH)
2 years, heavyweight white bitch. Gentle profile, small eye with well placed ears. Mouth correct. well constructed bodylines, slightly straight in the hinds. Moved better coming than going. Shown and handled well

Just over 2 years old, substantial, white bitch. Strong, yet feminine head, good depth of muzzle with a keen expression – ears bang on top. Mouth correct. Well constructed with good bone. Lovely length of leg, very neat feet, deep chest, well muscled and in fit condition, demonstrating a true sense of power whilst retaining her feminine qualities. Very much made the most of herself, moved with drive, shown and handled very well. BB BIS

6 year old, brindle and white bitch. Heavy bitch with an exaggerated profile, deep muzzle and strong underjaw. Elegant neck into well laid shoulder, slightly rising topline with straight hinds. Good round bone, good length of leg with straight front. Moved well, shown and handled with experience.
