It was one of my proudest moments to judge the Bull Terrier Club of Wales, a club very close to my heart, for many reasons. Firstly it is a well-run family club that always makes everyone feel welcome. Secondly it is a traditional club with high moral value’s practiced by committee’s past and present. I was happy with the quality set before me, yet again bitches strength in depth shone out, in some classes bitches standing third to fourth could have been CC winners. Yet again I will touch on the subject of lack of bone throughout, something that we must address before it is too late. We do not want to take the ‘Bull’ out of Bull Terriers.

11 month old white dog. Well balanced terrier type, strong head with good fill, keen eye and well set ears, long neck into good shoulders. Mouth incorrect, straight front with good feet, enough bone for type, good top line, and shapely quarters. Moved well both ways.
3rd BRONYGARN BOW STREET RUNNER (MRS H JOHNSON)
All white dog, strong head, straight front, heavy bone, shapely quarters. Moved better in front, closer behind

16 month old bull type, white with black brindle ears, powerful and compact, super well filled head, deep and wide, ears a little wide set, keen expression, correct mouth, muscular neck, straight front with strong round bone, good quarters. Moved with drive both ways, a fitful showman who makes his handler work hard, a little out of coat, but a useful stud dog.

Upstanding heavyweight red and white dog. Good head, deep and wide, gentle sweep of profile, correct mouth. Good eye and ear set, straight front, tight feet, deep brisket, good quarters. Moved better in front, closer behind. Well handled.
3rd SUTABLE DE ICE MAN (MR A MENIKIDES)
16 month old heavy weight white dog. Strong head, correct mouth, good eye and ear set, nice profile, shapely bodylines. Shapely well-muscled quarters. Movement hard to assess.

Moved with drive both ways, handled to perfection, could easily have taken top honours, in the mix of the three best dogs. Should easily make champion. RDCC

Two year old powerful brindle and white strong head wide and deep, gentle sweep of profile, straight front with good round bone, nicely rounded body, shapely bend of stifle, moved well both ways.

Eighteen month old quality upstanding white dog carrying brindle eye and ears. One of my three favourites on the day. Strong well filled and egg shaped head with no indentations, small dark eyes with a mean expression. Small neat ears bang on top, correct mouth, muscular but shapely neck, ramrod straight front with good bone and cat like feet, good top line, shapely quarters, a little more weight on the day would be picture perfect for me. I have heard a lot of Chinese whispers about this dog, I was so glad to have the opportunity to go over him myself. Twenty two month old white dog, terrier type super balanced and flowing bodylines, well filled head with a sweeping profile, good eye and well set neat ears, elegant neck into good shoulders, straight front with enough bone for type. Pasterns a tad weak and has a slight mouth fault but can easily carry this. Shapely quarters. In super condition. Well-handled and pushed hard all the way in the challenge. Should easily make champion.
3rd HENTARW WELSH WARRIOR FROM PENPYCH (MR & MRS M & J GRIFFITHS)
Powerful three and a half year old black, brindle and white dog, strong well filled head, good eye and well placed ears, muscular neck, straight front with good round bone, short coupled and well bodied, shapely well-muscled rear, moved well both ways, in super glossy condition. Handler made to work hard.

Quality heavy weight white bitch. Strong head, good eye and well set ear. Straight front, heavy bone, correct top line, shapely quarters. In lovely condition. A favourite of mine, looking forward to seeing what she produces.

Quality white terrier type bitch, super balanced, being placed fourth tells a story of the depth of quality in this class, she has a strong feminine head, correct mouth, good eye and well set ears, shapely bodyline’s in super condition, handled to perfection.

Would have liked a little bit more weight on her to take top honours. Moved well both ways with drive, handled well.
