Exhibits had pleasingly good temperaments,
the fundamental virtue of this breed. However, some worryingly common
construction faults, particularly very short upper arms, marred several
otherwise very good specimens; very short upper arms take away those ‘bay
windows’ which are such a feature of well constructed dogs. We also seem to be
losing the breadth & length of foreface, which, together with wide lower
jaws are essential to good dentition. As ever, movements were less than
inspiring but with a few pleasing exceptions: notably the main winners,
particularly the two CC winners which moved very well, the better mover
achieving BOB (& Group 3).

White with dark head mark, butterfly nose, nicely balanced dog with enough bone, good bodylines for age, nice profile, correct mouth, well placed eyes & ears, would like wider muzzle, straight front but a bit short in upper arm, correct tailset, moved well for age, immature but promising. BP

Well boned tricolor, nicely balanced though better tail carriage would improve. Powerful head with well placed eyes & fairly good ears, scissor bite but one canine tight. Straight front spoilt by turning toes out a little, good quarters, movement fairly good, a tad close behind.

Red & white fairly well marked, curved profile with correct bite, would like ears more on top, greater width of muzzle & fill under the eyes, moved fairly well though a bit close behind
2nd G'S VAUDDHU DES PIRATES D'ORTHOG (MS D Q QUENTIN)
Nicely marked brindle & white, well boned, straight front & fairly good body lines, head has lovely profile with slanting eyes, ears fairly good. Needs better width of muzzle & lower jaw, lower left canine misplaced, straight front, movement fairly good.

Short backed white dog, outline spoiled by tail carriage. Head with good profile & eyes, average ear placement, scissor bite, movement fairly good though rather close behind.

Black brindle & white, powerful well boned dog, well balanced, good bodylines & horizontal tail carriage, head has curved profile & well placed eyes giving pleasing expression, ears better than average but still not quite on top, scissor bite, very good movement with reach & drive. To be supercritical I would like more length & breadth of foreface, but all told this is a top class dog, easily taking DCC.
2nd SON OF LEGENDS (MR C & MRS P & MR D WANNOP & CROSSAN)White, straight front & good bodylines spoilt by rather flat front feet & I would like more muscle in quarters. Good head with curved profile & lovely eyes giving pleasing expression marred by low set ears, slightly undershot, fairly good movement.

Nicely marked brindle & white curved profile with good length of foreface & correct bite. Very reluctant to show or move, I was told she had just been sick before entering the ring & she was later withdrawn from further competition following more regurgitations of lumps of wood.

2nd TEIRWGWYN MISS INDEPENDANT OF MEILOW (MRS L & MR M GRIEVES)Attractive & well presented tricolour, a well built elegant bitch, long arched neck, lovely topline & tail carriage but spoiled by a short upper arm. Lovely head with good eyes, ears, profile & scissor bite. The upper arm reduces her reach but otherwise good movement.

Nicely marked red & white pleasing bodylines & topline, well balanced, strong head gently turned & fairly good earset, scissor bite, reasonable length & breadth of muzzle, her good construction resulted in her demonstrating much the best movement of the day, parallel & with real reach & drive, a pleasure to watch. 2nd TULSADOOM TERRYS ALL GOLD (MR T & MRS S BROWN)
White with brindle ear patch, substantial bitch, slightly upright in front largely due to short upper arm. Good quarters & tail carriage, head has pleasing expression, mouth just correct, lower jaw rather narrow, adequate movement.
